Soap and Glory

The Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel is a clay mask filled with little green pearls which dissolve as you rub the mask into your skin. Although the mask claims to shrink your pores I'm unconvinced by that. However it is a lovely clay mask which leaves my skin feeling really clean and pure after I've used it.

The only bugbear I have with it and all Soap and Glory Products is things like "powered by Poreshrink-r". It annoys me slightly that they have to make silly comments like that; if their product works then surely they should just say whats in it and leave it at that. Anyway rant over!

Anyone else use any Soap and Glory Masks or Products?

MAC lipsticks

I'm sure you all noticed that over Easter Debenhams had 10% off their beauty products. I in my infinite wisdom took that as a sign that I needed to guy 3 of the MAC lipsticks that had been sitting on my wishlist for a while. So at some indefinite time in the future (the post was really slow!) Plink! Creme d'nude and Ruby Woo dropped through my letter box.

Here they are for your viewing delight!

L to R Creme D'Nude; Ruby Woo and Plink!

With Flash L to R Plink!; Ruby Woo and Creme D'Nude

Without Flash L to R as above

Unfortunately I've been in and out of hospital so I haven't had a chance to wear them yet but the lovely vanillary MAC smell that drifts up when I open them is enough to brighten any girls day!

A plea for help!

As you may have seen in some of my photos I don't do much to my eyebrows (apart from pluck them; not a huge fan of the monobrow), I tend to let them do their own thing. However, I don't think they look great (I mean don't get me wrong they're ok) but they could be better!

So this is a bit of a cry for help to you guys!

Where should I start in doing them? What products do I use? What should I do?

So lovely people please help a girl and her eyebrows out?

NYC Ballet Petites

I have been lusting after these polishes since I saw a preview of them on someone's blog months ago.

Isn't the packaging beautiful!

The Four Colours are My Pointe Exactly: See? This gorgeous sheer gray has been right all along!
Don't Touch My Tutu:Hands off this wispy white- it's all mine!
Care to Danse? : This lilac is up to the minuet in fashion
Pirouette My Whistle: Drink up: This silver sparkle is just what you need

Here you can see the colours from top to bottom: Pirouette my whistle; Care to Danse?; Don't Touch my Tutu and My Pointe Exactly.

In the picture the colours are all after 5 coats except for Pirouette my Whistle which has 3. So you can see how sheer they are.
Although they wouldn't work on their own I think they would look lovely if my nails were very short or on top of other colours.

What do you think of this collection?
Do you have your eyes on any other O.P.I collections?

Glitter Overload

So this is my new loreal nailpolish Babydoll on the little and middle finger and Ivory by Max Factor on the other two topped by silver Barry M glitter on Babydoll and Red Barry M glitter on Ivory.

Apologies for the photo it was dark when I took it!
May I just say that these polishes are very good I've had them on for 5 days and there is minimal tipwear, they almost look freshly painted.

PPS. Do You love Damien Rice too? Slightly random but as I write this post he's playing and I'm quite content to just sit there and listen for the rest of the day!

Dress is H&M and cost £12.99

Wearing this dress made me feel very vintage for some reason! Its an outfit I wore a while ago but one that I wanted to show you because I enjoyed wearing it. (although I suppose there is some debate over whether a dress is really an outfit!)

once again please excuse the room and also my strange inability to smile in photos!

Supermarket Trip

I was in Sainsburys today with my mum and it was really really crowded so to get me to safety mum suggested I go check out the makeup in the pharmacy. Needless to say I didn't walk away empty handed but with some lovely mini nailpolishes stuffed in my pockets!

L to R Loreal Rose Paradis, Max Factor Ivory, Max Factor Diva Violet, Loreal Babydoll

Now for some Swatches
Top to Bottom - Rose Paradis (very sheer, more adding a sheen to your nail than any colour even after  4                    coats)
                       - Babydoll (much paler than it is in the bottle but reasonably opaque after 3 coats; I can see a bit of tip if I look closely)
                      - Diva Violet (Took 3 coats to become opaque; a lovely purple shade)
                     - Ivory (not sure why its called that as its quite clearly gold! the most opaque of the bunch; this only really needed two coats but I did 3 for luck) Its my favourite- a lovely gold with a sparkle the camera didn't quite capture

Care to share some of your impromtue purchases?

Rimmel 1000 Kisses

When I went to boots not too long ago I came away with two of these: Perpetual Plum and Carry on Cherry. I haven't had a chance to wear Cherry yet so the pictures here all relate to Perpetual Plum.

I really enjoyed the application of this; it was a felt tip so I just drew it on. The balm it comes with was great and once I'd applied it once I didn't need to do so again and my lips didn't feel dry at all. My only gripe with this was that the colour only lasted about two hours when I hadn't done any eating although it didn't transfer to my glass when I drank.
All in all I think its a pretty neat little product!

Thursday, 12 April 2012

These are 17 Fast Finish Polish in Ruby Dazzle. This was quite a sheer polish and took about four coats to get to a depth of colour that I was happy with. However it lasted really well; this was taken two days after application and I think it lasted four before it got too bad and I had to take it off.

Word of warning; once it started to chip it really went with huge chunks coming off!

After trying out the Rimmel lip tints and liking them; although not being overly impressed with how long they lasted I thought it was time to give one of the maybelline ones a go.

The one I chose to test was the Colorsensational lipmarker in Tender Rose.

Here it is swatched on my hand and on my lips.

I found this very easy to apply as it is shaped like a felt tip and you just draw it onto your lips. The colour was a sort of bitten lips rosiness perfect for a natural daytime look.
When you apply this there is a quite strong sweet smell which some people may not like (I did) and it didn't last terribly long.
The colour faded evenly after about 3 hours and I didn't find these drying despite them not coming with a lip balm.

Overall I'm quite impressed with this; It'll be interesting to see if the brighter colour I have is also as good.

What do you think? do you prefer these of the Rimmel ones.

My New Hair

Yesterday I went to the hairdressers (61 The Salon in Eton) and this is the result.

Not the clearest picture I know but it gives you an idea.

I love it!

What would you do to your hair if  you could do anything?

Wednesday, 4 April 2012

These nails are London Town by Nails inc. Its actually a magnetic polish but I didn't use that feature.

It was quite sheer and took about three coats to look like this. It has a lovely metallic sheen to it which stops the colour looking flat.
I got about two days wear out of this which is good for me! (I'm sure normal people would get longer!)

Bad Day

Today the pain is so bad that I can't move. I don't want sympathy or anything; just needed to get it out there!  To be honest with you its probably my own fault. I've been doing a lot lately and now I'm paying for it!

Anyone got anything interesting a girl can do when she's lying in bed?
